Daniel Roth Jer-zee ProjectLily - ProjectLily Joanna Lumley! Sarah Jane The War Games I just remember that my firsr true sci fi experience was seeing Tom Baker on PBS when I was four or five. He terrified me. I have a strange love affair with Michigan that has as yet gone unexplained. Preparing for the zombie apocalypse, writing music, writing music about the oncoming zombie apocalypse, making short films, keeping on the look-out for ancient, cursed, Indian burial grounds, figuring out the overly complicated true continuity for the Zelda games, and trying to convince people that I'm that THAT geeky. I'm a music snob so I can't tell you. But I can guarantee that what you listen to is probably cr*p. Aren't I special? Whenever I don't know what to do I listen to my gut. After being amused by the gurgling within I usually forget what I was thinking about. I don't really have much but my friend made me a certain scarf that I shamelessly wear almost every geeky day! www.fairlybohemian.com |

Matt Quigley East Village, Manhattan - markquigley quigley Tom Baker (and Patrick... and, well, Chris) Sarah Jane, Jamie, The Brig Inferno A friend had in his possession the 'Marvel Premiere' comic book which re-ran for the stateside crowd the comics from Doctor Who Weekly. I was curious about this comic, and he awkwardly attempted to sum it all up, hitting me with all manner of fact, figure, and colorful description (many of which turned out to be wrong, but it worked for me all the same). WOR (Channel 9 here in NYC) was showing DW--from "Robot" to "Invasion of Time"-- on Saturday mornings (summer of '81). I went from oblivous to obsessed inside of a week and basically never looked back Stranger to you good folks as I currently am, I'd imagine most anything about me could potentially be surprising Nothing too extraordinary: Writing, making music, reading, watching films, interacting with humans to varying degrees and with an assortment of ends in mind Roxy Music, Phil Spector, Scott Walker, Isaac Hayes, Beach Boys, Sparks, Stevie Wonder I've no credo, carved in stone, by which I live as such. I've a hunch that folks are far more alike--in our fears, aspirations, motivations--at our respective cores than not. I'm big on compassion, empathy and such, if only to spare myself the headache of grudges Apart from the videos and DVDs, my adult life finds me sadly lacking in DW merch http://www.livejournal.com/users/mquigley |

Hallen Brooklyn Theta Sigma - thetasigma Seventh (Sylvester McCoy) Ace Remembrance of the Daleks About 7 years old, watching the original US broadcast run of the Tom Baker era. I think watching Mary Tamm sealed my heterosexuality! I got the NYPL to add the BBC Mass market paperbacks and DVDs to their branch collections (also to replace the missing/damaged VHS titles), and got the former US DW book distributor (London Bridge/GDS) to carry audiotapes/CDs/hardcovers before their downfall. Also got them to order a ton of Target titles from Virgin before they were pulped. (Or Burtons got their hands on them). Doctor Who collection, record collection Synth-pop Say what I mean, and mean what I say. Oh boy...tough question....Child size Peter Davison shirt, Dapol figures... - |

I still draw a bit and now live vicariously through my children. Thank goodness they're all interesting. Some Techno (Huh)?, some Cash, some Sinatra, and I actually know the words to "I, Meles Gloriosus" ..'scuse the spelling. I'll do better next time. A scarf. To be truthful, two. Sean Reiser Astoria, Queens nibbler - sean Sylvester McCoy (the later years) Either Ace or Sarah Jane Smith School Reunion Stumbling accross The Talons of Weng-Chiang and thinking I was watching some Sherlock Holmes rip-off (at least until they got into a phone booth that vanished) I was tempted to say "Love and Monsters" above just to see the how much hate mail I'd get. Playing with things technical and gadget-y. Making chain malle. Classic Rock (The Who, Led Zeplin), Punk and alternative. That would imply a level of organization that I don't have. I don't have any yet. I really don't own any to speak of (not a merchandise kinda guy). http://www.seanreiser.com |
